Although all organisations listed are members of East Tenders it is essential that you seek professional advice before signing up to a course. Depending on your circumstances you may be eliglble for free or low cost provision. If you can't find what you are looking for or have any questions please contact our team who will be more than happy to help you.

Redbridge Connexions Centre

Redbridge Connexions provides an information, advice, guidance and support service for young people. Trained Personal Advisers offer information, advice and guidance about choice of career, employment and training (including support with CV's and interview skills). Additional support is available for personal issues including relationships, housing, benefits or health issues. Short courses are offered to young people who are NEET, in conjunction with the Youth Service, to increase employability skills and develop self esteem. Opening hours are Mon-Fri 9.00am-5.00pm and on Wednesdays until 7pm. No appointment is needed to see an Adviser.

The Stepping Stones Partnership

The Stepping Stones Partnership offers services to parents who are interested in returning to work or training. The project provides independent advice and a flexible package of support that includes circumstances.
• Access to a named advisor and 6 hours one-to-one support;
• Information, Advice and Guidance
• Work placements
• Access to further training
• Support with career development and job search
• Volunteering opportunities

Eligibility Criteria
Participants must:
• Live in Redbridge or Havering
• Not currently in education, employment or in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance
• Over 20 years old
• Be eligible to work or train in the UK

Age Concern

Age Concern Redbridge is operating an employment service for people over 50 funded by the National Lottery. The service is free and offers tailored one to one information, advice and guidance on training, volunteering and employment opportunities. Our clients receive practical support with writing CVs, filling in job applications, job search and interview preparation. We also organise a series of peer mentoring workshops focused on various employment aspects each year. Our 50+ clients come from various professional backgrounds and have a wealth of experience to assist employers seeking to engage mature employees.

Barnabas Workshops

Barnabas Workshops is a registered charity offering a job brokerage and recruitment service which includes employability support to jobseekers and help with recruitment for employers. We offer professional and dedicated support from a team of experienced tutors, advisors and volunteer’s in career advice and personal development. We also offer a FREE service to employers assisting in filling vacancies and recruiting new staff.

Jobcentre Plus

If you are in receipt of benefits it is essential that you seek advice from Jobcentre Plus before starting a training course. Jobcentre provide advice, information and support on making a claim, training or returning to work.

Ocean Somali Community Association

Ocean Somali Community Association is a voluntary organisation which was established in 2001 by professionals and Somalis, with the goal of strengthening communication and linkages between service providers and the Somali community. Our genesis was as a direct response to the lack of services to the Somali community residing in the East End in particularly LB Tower Hamlets.

Redbridge Connexions (Adults)

The right advice is important, nextstep is a free and friendly career advice service for anyone aged 20 and over. Our advisers offer a huge range of information and advice to help you find a course at college, improve your current skills, get new qualifications and find the right job. For adults seeking NextSteps advice, an appointment is needed.

Redbridge Institute for Adult Education

The Institute offers a range of high quality training provision from full qualifications to short courses. The college have achieved the top grades from the International Assocation of Bookkeeping, the British Computer Society and from CACHE. Overall their provision was judged to be Good by Ofsted.

From parenting classes to ESOL, from Health and Safety to family learning the Institiute has a course to suit you. Contact our advice workers who will help you choose the course that is right for you.

The Bromley by Bow Centre
